Welcome to our family-owned and operated holiday park, Located just 300 meters from the picturesque beach of Taupō Bay. We are tucked away slightly 'off the beaten track', we offer a true taste of authentic New Zealand. Enjoy surfing the waves, fishing, kayaking or simply relaxing amidst our 1.2 hectares of campground – a perfect haven for families and the little explorers.


Accommodation Options

We provide a range of accommodation to suit your needs

  • We have one self-contained 2 bedroom cabin
  • Four kitchen cabins (no ensuite)
  • Power and tent sites.

Facilities

  • BBQ Area: Prepare your fresh catch of the day and enjoy on our picnic tables
  • Shared Kitchen: Equipped with many sinks, fridges, freezers, gas hobs, kettles and toasters
  • Clean bathrooms: Separate facilities for men and women, maintained to a high standard. During off season, bathrooms may be converted to unisex. Showers operate with a $2 coin
  • Outdoor shower: perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach, with an attached hose for rinsing boats
  • Fish filleting station: conveniently equipped for cleaning your catch
  • Laundry room: complete with washers and dryers both which operate with $4
  • Seasonal Store: Stocked with fishing gear, ice creams, drinks and basic grocery supplies

Beach activities

  • Fishing: Cast your line and see what you catch. The left-end rocks of the beach is a great spot for fishing, and a boat ramp provides access to the beach for launching your boat
  • Beach walks: Stroll along the beach or explore the rocky ends of the bay
  • Snorkeling & Diving: Discover the underwater beauty!

  • Historic Mangōnui: Just 20 minutes away, offering charming cafes and shops.
  • Doubtless bay beaches: Explore the picturesque area.

Day Trips

  • 90 Mile Beach:(Te oneroa a Tohe) A scenic one-hour drive north, Ninety-Mile Beach is the fabled strip of sand that stretches from Ahipara to Scott Point, five kilometres south of Cape Maria van Diemen. Truth be told, it is actually 88 kilometres long.
  • Cape Reinga (Te Rerenga Wairua): A two-hour journey to the northernmost tip of New Zealand. In Māori tradition, Cape Reinga or Te Rerenga Wairua is the place where spirits depart on their long journey back to the homeland. As you stand beneath the iconic lighthouse, and watch the Tasman Sea and the mighty Pacific Ocean collide far below, you’ll feel the power of this special place.
  • Whangaroa harbour: Take the scenic road via Tauranga and Matauri Bays to enjoy breathtaking views The Whangaroa harbour is mostly protected as a nature reserve, with untouched areas featuring spectacular rock outcrops and stunning views. There are many accessible walkways and hiking tracks in the area
  • Bay of islands (Pēwhairangi): One-hour south, with a variety of guided tours available to help you explore. The Bay of Islands encompasses 144 islands between Cape Brett and the Purerua Peninsula and includes the boutique towns of Opua, Paihia, Russell and Kerikeri.
  • Kaiaraara Rock (Dukes Nose) Track: The closest hike to Taupō Bay, a must-see hike at Tōtara North. The track follows the stream behind the hut towards the top of Dukes Nose. Take in spectacular views of the native costal forest below, the Whangaroa harbour and to the sea beyond.
